72 MonthsPh.D Basic and Applied Sciences shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
M.Tech. in Food Science/Food Technology and Management/Food Technology/Dairy Technology/Dairy and Food Technology from a recognized University/Institute. In addition M.Sc. Degree from a recognized University/Institute in Food Technology/Food Science and Technology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry are also eligible for admission. Such candidate may be required to undergo deficiency courses as per the curriculum.
All candidates shall have to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) to be organized by NIFTEM in its campus followed by interview for the candidates who qualify RET. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of RET (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage). Due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
