72 MonthsPh.D Food Engineering shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Applicant must have Four year BE/B.Tech. followed by two years of M.E/MS/M.Tech. degree in any of the following disciplines of Food Technology and Management/Food Process Engineering and Management/Food Technology/Food Process Engineering/Food Engineering/Dairy Engineering/Dairy Technology/Agricultural Process Engineering/Agricultural and Food Engineering/Agricultural Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
All candidates shall have to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) to be organized by NIFTEM in its campus followed by interview for the candidates who qualify RET. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of RET (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage). Due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
