Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) began its journey in 1989 as an engineering college with a visionary commitment to emerge as a distinguished centre of excellence in higher education, built on uncompromising standards of discipline, ethics, and academic rigor.
From its inception, NICHE has remained steadfast in its pursuit of quality education, research advancement, and holistic student development. In recognition of its academic excellence, the institution was ranked the 19th Best Engineering College by Anna University in 2006.
- NICHE Kanyakumari was accorded deemed-to-be-university status in 2008 and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

It's a average good college with both merits and demerits

Many appreciate that the campus is surrounded by nature green, calm but some places near the cafe and some other places smell soo bad and not hygeine.Good lab facilities. Library and classroom facilities are good while for other departments it's not much good.Curriculum provided is latest and updated. Recent technologies are included. There are both good and poor teaching staffs..
