60 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Chemistry shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of five years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by The Neotia University, Kolkata.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates should have a Master’s degree or a degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body of this University, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
- Candidates should qualify for a written MCQ Examination and will be called for an interview/counseling. The final selection will be made on the basis of the overall performance of the candidates.
- Candidates who have already cleared the UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examinations/NET/GATE/JEST/ SET or have obtained DST INSPIRE Fellowship / Teacher fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil./ M.Tech/ M.E or equivalent examination, need to appear only at the interview, skipping the written test.
Admission Details
Applications shall be invited through announcements by the university. The interested applicant/s may apply for admission in Ph. D program in Agriculture to the Registrar's Office of the university. The R&D committee of the university shall get in touch with the Controller of Examination Section to conduct the admission entrance test (written mode). In the entrance test, 50% of questions shall be set from the research methodology and the other 50% of questions shall be set from relevant subjects. The qualified candidates shall be called for the personal interview, the candidate may be considered for enrollment in the Ph. D program in Basic Science of the university.
