As a GEM, you must need to have  a good to excellent academic background to get a call from these IIMs. A good academic background will be:

X - 90% +

XII - 90% +

Engineering - 75% +

CAT - 99.5 percentile

And an excellent academic background will be

X - 90% +

XII - 95% +

Engineering - 85%

Work-Ex - 1.5 year

CAT - 99 percentile

For a good profile you might miss a call from one of the holy Trinity, but for an excellent profile, you'll definitely get a call.

or getting calls from IIM-BLACKI you need to have 97.5+ (safe percentile) for general category to convert. Although every year the cut offs are released by these institutes including the sectional cut offs which varies institute to institute. Other than CAT scores, you workex, academics, extra curriculars, your achievements also plays a vital role in getting the calls.

Maintain a strong profile without gap years to target these institutes. If your profile is great you can get calls at lower CAT percentile as well. In cat 2019, a few students got calls at pretty low percentiles (85+) from IIM banglore. But keep a target of 97.5+

Receiving a call from IIM depends upon a lot of factors this includes performance in class 10th performance in class 12th performance in graduation work experience and CAT percentile score so CAT percentile score is just one part of it and every IIM has its on weightage for different.
