72 MonthsPh.D. program in Physics shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Gauhati University, Guwahati.
Eligibility Criteria
Master's degree in relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% for Engineering or Grade B or 55% of marks in UGC 7 point scale for others.
Or
B. Tech degree in relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 8.5/10 or 80% marks in aggregate.
Written Test/Personal Interview will be conducted as per the notification in due time.

The selection process is through a Written Test followed by a Personal Interview.

The Central Institute of Technology at Kokrajhar district is a public deemed university established in 2006. It is a government institute situated in the north eastern state of Assam. The infrastructure of CIT is very good. Library facility is excellent. Classrooms, laboratories are very good. Field is there in the college campus for sports.
