Over the years, the department has evolved as one of the premier departments in the country providing excellent teaching and research in mathematical and statistical sciences. The vibrant academic environment is nurtured by strongly motivated faculty and provides an opportunity to pursue research in front-line areas of basic sciences as well as in interdisciplinary areas of sciences and technology. In the coming decade, apart from the existing areas, the department intends to develop areas related to mathematical aspects of computing science in all its manifestations.
Fees - 30000/- Par year + Admission Registration fee of INR 5000/ (Non-Refundable)
Eligibility Criteria
The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in a postgraduate programme and MPhil. The students who have cleared UGC-CSIR NET/JRF examination or SLET/GATE examinations and also the students who have worked as JRF for one year in the externally funded major research projects may be exempted from MPhil requirement. In the case of internally funded major research projects (MRP), the students may be exempted from MPhil requirement after two years of research experience. Under certain conditions such as the presence of high impact publications students with a high academic performance at the postgraduate level, may be admitted directly to a Ph.D. programme.
Admission Details
Admissions are done on the basis of Christ University Entrance Test, Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation, Academic Performance(Assessment of past performance in Degree and MPhil and the research proposal during the Personal Interview), and Personal interview.
