IIFT Bangalore is good college for fashion. Due to research infrastructure is good in this college. Classrooms are good and practical classes class rooms also new design. Library good. The eligibility criteria of IIFT are

• Candidates should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution or university.
• General/ OBC/ EWS candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in graduation while ST/ SC/ PwD candidates need to have a score of minimum 45% marks.
• Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for IIFT

So, if you have done your distance graduation from any recognized University then only you can appear for IIFT.

In order to answer your question, I’d like to begin by saying that all colleges are good in their own regards. Also, having said that, it is not advisable to club all the IIMs under one banner, given the advantage that the older IIMs enjoy having been established much earlier and hence having had the time and means to establish a reputation and an alum base in the industry. So, for the sake of this answer, we can split the IIMs into three categories – IIM ABC, IIM LIK and the new IIMs.

As far as IIM A, IIM B & IIM C are concerned, they would rank above IIFT on most people’s lists, except in niche cases where the candidate wants to do an IB course. So, it is not much of a decision and IIM ABC can be opted over IIFT.

Now coming to IIM L, IIM I & IIM K, there are can be merit for both arguments for both parties. Will the IIMs can boast of the brand IIM tag, IIFT can boast of international exposure and the niche IB course. So, the decision is completely dependent on the individual making the call. Also, one thing to be considered here is the fact that placements for both IIFT Delhi and Kolkata campus are conducted together. So, the batch sizes when it comes to a placement point of view is almost the same.

The last part, as far as the new IIMs are concerned, one thing that goes for them is the IIM tag. However, given their age, most of the new IIMs most certainly do not have the sway that an older IIM possesses. Taking into consideration the fees, the corporate competitions opened for the colleges, the companies coming to recruit and most importantly the average packages, IIFT seems to be a better choice in the short to medium run. However, the argument for the newer IIMs would be the fact that in the long run, the brand name might help the candidate. But this is not set in stone and might be a punt in the present condition.

Having talked about the colleges, the modes of getting into IIMs and IIFT is also completely different. The former requires CAT as a base score with a GD-PI-WAT round to follow, and the latter uses their own IIFT exam as a guideline to call people for further GD-PI-WAT process. Both are completely different exams even though their syllabus might seem same. So, the strategy has to be different. That being said, the initial preparation can be the same, given that the syllabus is somewhat similar. The specific preparation for the exams can be taken care of by attempting mocks and coming up with game plans for the said exams.

• General knowledge and Current Affairs - 20 questions
• Quantitative Ability - 25 questions
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning - 30 questions
• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension - e5 questions

but no sectional timing. Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge & Current Affairs are likely to consist of one mark for each correct answer. While, English Grammar and Logical Reasoning will have 0.5 and 0.75 marks respectively for correct answers. Technically speaking you will be writing CAT exam  in the month of november i.e prior to 2 months before XAT and IIFT which are being conducted in January.All these exams are conducted once a year and have 3 rounds viz- Objective,Descriptive writing/Group Discussion and Personal interviews. You will need to apply each for the most of the participating institutions separately and a Common admission process is also done clubbing some of the institutions.All scores of the first level would be released in the month of January tentatively and you should start applying immediately after the result declaration.Final admission results after all the rounds will be released at the end of May.Best wishes.

* NID is basically a design college where students are taught about designs in various fields.the eligibility criteria for the exam is-

students must have passed the Bachelor degree examinations, they should have a  Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in any of the fields such as  Design/ Architecture/Fine Arts/Applied Arts, after 12th standard, from any university .

* UCEED conducts exams to get students for IITs and also to some design colleges. the eligibility criteria is-

students must complete the HSC exam/10+2 board exams.Students who will appear in the 10+2 board exam in the year 2021 are also  eligible to apply for the admission under UCEED . 2021.

*NIFT :it stands for National institute of fashion technology.This is India's premier institute for fashion design.The eligibility criteria for this exam is-

.UG: 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board

PG: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognized University

* IIFT is a national-level management entrance exam conducted once in a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA), This exam is for the students who wants  admission to MBA program offered by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.The eligibility criteria for this exam is -
