24 MonthsMaster of Science (M.Sc) in Microbiology is a full-time two year post-graduate course offered at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.
The course curriculum of M.Sc Microbiology is designed with an aim to provide knowledge and skills in the field of Microbiology catering to Medicine, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Food and Dairy Industry, Environmental and Nanotechnology, emphasizing on the latest advances in the field. An optimum blend of theory, labs and dissertation/hands on project work would open diverse career opportunities in Hospitals, Diagnostics, Pharma and Biopharma R&D’s, Clinical laboratories, Food Industry, Food Safety and Quality Control as well as in core biotechnology industries.
The department has 22 faculty members with rich teaching and research experience in diverse areas of Biotechnology: Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, Bioinformatics etc . The department offers B.Tech, Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech , M.Tech and Ph.D programs in Biotechnology.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have completed B.Sc(Hons)/B.Sc General /B.Tech in any branch of Life Sciences such as Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering/Industrial Biotechnology/Industrial Microbiology/ Bio-engineering/ Food Technology etc. or an equivalent Undergraduate Degree in any branch of Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences/ any branch of Biology under 10+2+3 pattern securing minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) or equivalent grade point on a 10 point scale in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc course).
Admission Details
- Direct admission for candidates securing above 60% based on merit and seat availability.
- An entrance test of one hour duration will be conducted by Department for candidates securing 55%-60% (JIIT PGET).
- CUET-PG in the concerned discipline of M.Sc program will be considered for the admission as per merit.
- The selected candidates will be notified by email.
