48 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology is a doctoral degree with a duration of 4 years offered by the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.
The Ph.D programme at the Department of Biotechnology mainly focuses on the areas of natural product therapeutics, microbial and food technology, environmental biotechnology, protein engineering and medical biotechnology. The programme is well designed with modules targeted towards knowledge building. Students are given the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops as well as training and development programmes to acquaint them with recent trends in the field of biotechnology. The department motivates its research scholars to apply for funding and scholarship opportunities. As a result, many scholars are funded with fellowships from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), DST-Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST-INSPIRE), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
Eligibility Criteria
- M. Tech. Degree of a University or equivalent for Ph.D. in Engineering/Technology in respective branch with 60% Aggregate Marks or CGPA not less than 6 on scale of 10.
- Master‟s Degree of a University for Ph. D. in Sciences/ Humanities/ Social Sciences/ Management/ Pharmacy in respective discipline or equivalent with 60% Aggregate marks or CGPA not less than 6 on scale of 10.
- M.C.A. Degree with 60% Aggregate Marks or equivalent CGPA and two years experience for Ph.D in Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology Departments.
Admission Details
Admission to PhD Program will be done through PhD Entrance Test followed by interview conducted by JUET Guna. NET/SLET/GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing in PhD Entrance Test. However, they will be required to appear for the interview conducted by the respective department. Admission will be offered purely on the basis of PhD Entrance Test Result and/or Interview. The admission will be provisional and subject to production of eligibility certificates and deposition of academic fee.
