Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D. program in Commerce shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of five years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by JG University, Uvarsad.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed the Master’s Degree examination in Arts/Commerce/Social Sciences/Humanities/Computing/Education (if the bachelor’s degree is obtained in a 10+2+3 pattern) with a 55% or equivalent CGPA at the postgraduate level. The candidates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree with Honors (in 10+2+4 pattern) and have passed a one-year Master’s degree Examination (two semesters) with 55% or equivalent CGPA are also eligible to apply for admission.
*SC, ST, EWS, and PwD candidates will be given a relaxation of 5%.
The Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees must be from universities or institutions recognized by the MHRD/ UGC/Government of India or any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India.
Candidates with professional qualifications like CA/CS etc. can also apply for admission even if they do not possess a master’s degree. However, such candidates shall also take an entrance test followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
*SC, ST, EW, S, and PwD candidates will be given a relaxation of 5%.
The University will administer its PhD entrance test followed by Group Discussion and Viva for admission to the doctoral program.
The candidates who have cleared NET/SLET or possess a valid MPhil degree and whose admission at the MPhil level has been through an entrance test will be exempted from the entrance test. However, the final admission rests on their performance in Group Discussion and Viva.
The final admission to the program is subject to the availability of valid proof substantiating the academic achievements and credentials of the candidate. The decision of the authorities at the School of Research, JG University regarding the eligibility of any candidate shall be regarded as final.

Admission Details

All the eligible and qualifying candidates will be short-listed based on merit after the due verification of all the documents and credentials submitted by the candidate.

College Infrastructure

It's good . You can get almost every facility. Hostel facility is available ,guards are there to look after students. Library is there to spend time with books you can get library card easily. NCC is conducted in our college students goes to play at national level.
