For admission to UG programs, candidates must have passed the 12th grade examination from a recognized board or university with a minimum of 50% marks. 

The selection process for admission varies based on the level and program. For UG programs, selection is typically determined by merit in the qualifying examination.

On the other hand, for admission to PG programs, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Some PG programs may require candidates to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university. For PG and research programs, selection may be based on merit, entrance test scores, and/or an interview.

• Entrance exam is compulsory. This will be in the form of writing (80 marks) and oral (20 marks) . 50% marks from entrance exam and 50% marks from the degree exam will be considered. 
• Students should have completed graduation from any university.
• Kannada should be taken as optional in degree and an average of more than 55% marks should be scored.
• Kannada Language should be studied as a second language in any degree classes and an average of more than 50% marks should be scored. (50% marks for SC/S.T. and Group-I category Students)

• Students should have scored 55% marks in 2 years post graduation from any UGC recognized university.( 50% for SC/ST and Group-1 Category)
• Lecturers who are appointed in government aided and post graduation degree colleges/universities and lecturers in permanent service who scored 50% in related subjects in post graduates are eligible for M.Phil. Study. 
• There is no necessity for an entrance exam for students passing the UGC/CSIR/NET/SLET/GATE/JRF/or FIP/QIP entrance exam. 
• The students getting eligibility as per the rules have to attend the entrance exam conducted by the university for selection.
