Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Vegetable Science shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, offered by Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate possessing the above qualifications and fulfilling the conditions laid down hereunder shall have to qualify the written test and secure a place in the merit list to be eligible for admission:

a) At the Master's level, the candidate should have secured an OGPA not less than 6.500/10.000 or an Ist Division in case of the Universities where these grading scales are not applicable.

b) Besides, a candidate must also possess the eligibility qualifications prescribed for Master's Programmes of the University in the relevant discipline.

c) A relaxation of 5% marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, will be allowed to those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates.

Master degree in Olericulture/Vegetable Science/Horticulture with specialization in Vegetable Science with grade point 6.5 or equivalent.

Admission Details

The Admissions Committee will decide the cutoff marks for qualifying the Entrance Test after the declaration of the rank-wise list of the candidates who appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by the University.

(ii) For Master's and Ph.D. programmes, in the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks in the UET, the candidate of higher age would be considered. For Undergraduate programmes, in the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks, the merit shall be decided on the basis of marks secured in Physics and Chemistry. In the event of a tie again, a candidate higher in age would be considered.
