Adi Sankara Training College was established in the year 2005 at Kalady, Ernakulam District of Kerala is an affiliated college. This co-educational institution located in Chalakere with over an area of 36280 square meters and is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college offers one degree course, B.Ed., for a total of 100 students’ enrolment. Having a faculty of 14 members, the institute has made sure that it promote a proportionate student-to-teacher ratio. Adi Sankara Training College is a highly focused college in its delivery of training to teachers.

Adi Sankara Training College provides aqua sport, indoor games, outdoor games, transportation, youth counselling centre, banking, post office, a canteen, a hostel for girls, a library, N.S.S, N.C.C, a computer centre and many more facilities to improve the learning facilities for students. The library is one of the institution’s precious possessions, containing more than seven thousand volumes of books, two thousand six hundred of which are to do with pedagogy and one hundred and fifty related to optional subjects. However, for practical training, the college possesses various laboratories. The formal technology lab is equipped with computers, whiteboards, OHPs and all other standard learning facilities while the psychological lab has equipment for experiments for intelligence, personality and cognitive tests. The campus also boasts of having cafeteria, separate hostels for boys and girls and sports facilities. There are also other facilities such as an auditorium for events, seminars, etc and health centre, with first aid services. The college also maintains IT facilities to cater for developments in technology-based education.

Adi Sankara Training College provides only one course, B. Ed or the Bachelor Of Education. It is a full-time course with a duration of two years drawn with an approved admission capita of one hundred students. The B.Ed programme is focused on educators and focuses on the implementation of practices that students use as prepared teachers. The cost of this course is around ninety thousand rupees which further makes it easy for anyone intending to become a teacher to pursue this course. Since this is the only programme offered at the college, it trains teachers extensively on the education curriculum.

Admission to the training college is based on the academic performance indicated by marks in the qualifying or entrance examination. Admissions in the college are centralised and follow the standard set down by the state government of Kerala and the affiliated university. It is also worth to note that the admission requirements and perhaps the dates indicated may slightly differ within years.
