Al-Azhar Law College, Thodupuzha: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Al-Azhar Law College is an affiliated college in Thodupuzha, Kerala since 2013. Co-educational and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) which means it follows all legal education curriculum.. With regard to the college being discussed, its specialization is presented by 6 Law courses in five degrees. Al-Azhar Law College is now focusing on the goal of imparting quality legal education so that the students when passing out can be quickly placed in the legal profession. College is situated at Thodupuzha which is advantageous to the students for their college academic activities.

The college is equipped with numerous and varied state-of-art infrastructures to cater for the needs of the students, both academically and socially. Library and information resources – a modern library stocked with books, journals and e-journals is easily accessible for researcher work and for studying. The I.T facilities comprised of specialized computing laboratories and high speed Internet connection that includes wireless coverage in the campus. 

The college has a gym and other establishing for students’ physical health such as a large ground for football, volleyball and cricket, and an indoor badminton hall. The college also has provided different hostel sections for both male and female students considering the accommodation needs of residential students. An ample cafeteria is available that prepares assorted meals for all consumers of the college food through a restaurant style. The moot court facility enriches the realistic training environment of the students in the operation of a courtroom.

The specialty of Al-Azhar Law College provides 6 courses, and all of them are full-time. The program of the study covers both the undergraduate and the postgraduate in law. The basic curriculum offered by the college at the undergraduate level are B.A LLB, LLB, B.Com LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons). At post graduate level, programs offered include; Post graduate diploma in Commercial Law, LLM in Commercial Law and Criminal Law. The total intake permitted for the BA LLB and LLB courses is 120 and for B.Com LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) the intake capacity is 60 each. The intake for the LLM programs is not stated.Course 

The admission to Al-Azhar Law College is offered mostly on the basis of performance on the Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE). This examination is used for all courses for the college as well as for the under graduate and post graduate programs. KLEE is mandatory from the prospective students in order to be admitted into the institution. The college also takes the L.L.B 3-year examination for some of the programs it offers. 

Although certain admissions are not mentioned with the dates, the candidates are advised to follow the KLEE examination schedule and the admission process to be followed. To help the graduating students get an opportunity of a carrier in the legal field, the training and placement cell in the college conduct campus interview and co-ordinate the recruitment process.
