Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi founded Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The university is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary academic university with campuses in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, headquartered in Ettimadai, Tamil Nadu. Mata Amritanandamayi Math is in charge of managing Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
The institute was established in 2002 and has a total number of 376 faculties. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi has three schools namely Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita School of Business and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. All the three schools function as separate college under the Kochi campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi offers a variety of facilities and infrastructure to its students. The institute offers a total of 84 courses. The scholarships of this institute are given to students based on three factors- merit, socially backward communities and specially disadvantaged groups. Top performers from all the schools are given merit-based scholarships. Students belonging to socially backward groups such as SC/ST, OBC, and women students, persons with disabilities belonging to especially disadvantaged groups are also provided with scholarships. The amount of these scholarships varies from partial or full tuition fee waiver or just stipends to cover living and health expenses. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi scholarships are given to only those students who submit an application for scholarship in their departmental offices. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi consists of three schools namely- Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita School of Business and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi placements are provided to students of Amrita School of Business. Place com is a committee run by the students and the faculties who are responsible for carrying out all the activities related to placements. Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR) holds several seminars on business and numerical skills to prepare students for placement. The average package for the batch of 2018-20 was 6.68 lakhs per annum with the highest package of 10 lakhs per annum. There were over a 100 plus companies visiting the campus for placements.

from 2017 onwards neet is made mandatory for physiotheraphy course and also for all professional health sciences courses, if you are wishing to get yourself admitted in physiotheraphy course then you need to appear for NEET exam and yes amrita vishwa vidyapeetham kochi campus do provide bachelor in physiotheraphy (BPT) whose first fees is 87k.
