Bapuji college of education situated in Chitradurga district of Karnataka, which is also one of the well known teacher education college in Karnataka was started in the academic year 2004-2005. This co-educational college located at N.H.13., Pillekarenahally Chitradurga is an affiliated college recognized from National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). Bapuji College of Education prepares its students with a student strong of 100 members including various courses and 12 faculty members. 

The Bapuji college of education has numerous facilities with which it sought to improve learning environment for its students. Modern library should be equipped with a set of materials which are critical for research and educational processes. For those who are interested in some exercise to balance work and have various facilities related to sports. There is a cafeteria provided on campus that afford the students an opportunity to temporarily remove themselves from the study process and interact with fellow students. The college has an auditorium for seminars, cultural programmes and other academic meetings. Practical needs of teacher training are met by specialised laboratories. The institute also provides transport facilities, so that it becomes easier to travel for both students as well as the staffs. Also, there is a guest room/waiting room for use in the event that there is visiting faculty or family, demonstrating the college’s nature as a hospitality institution.

There are two main programmes being offered by Bapuji College of Education. The B.Ed program is a two-year full course approved for an intake of one hundred students. This programme aims at producing teachers who will teach at secondary and higher secondary level educations. It also has the Diploma in Education (D.Ed) another full-time course of two academic year’s duration. This diploma course is for those who have an intention to teach at the primary school. Both courses are designed to enable student to gain a broad view of educational theories, principles, and practices including methods of classroom instruction.

The admission criteria in Bapuji College of Education are direct admission through marks secured in the qualifying examination and or entrance examination. The admission policies of the college are also governed by the State Government of Karnataka as well as the affiliated university.
