Bhaskara Polytechnic, located at Komatipalli, Bobbili, Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, was started during the academic year 2007-08. This AICTE-approved technical institution provides the facility of diploma programmes in various fields of engineering. Bhaskara Polytechnic is an engineering college located on the relatively small 5.59 acres of land that hosts the college’s campus. It affords technical education to aspiring engineers. As of now, the institute has 105 students and 9 faculty members, which means the student-teacher ratio is also good enough to give individual attention to any students. 

A wide range of facilities exists at Bhaskara Polytechnic that seek to improve the study experience and the development of the students. A fully equipped library is the knowledge centre of the institution, where students are able to access all technical learning resources. With today's technological types of equipment, well-equipped laboratory facilities have been established where practical learning in almost all disciplines of engineering is possible. The college employs modern information technology to ensure that students keep updated with modern technological developments. Institute-wise extracurricular activities and events are made available through an auditorium, which is used for seminars, workshops, and other cultural programmes. To meet the need for sporting activities, the institution provides sports facilities that the students can use to update their physical activities. This is an Affiliated College of State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad.

In total, Bhaskara Polytechnic provides five full-time diploma programmes in engineering branching into various fields of the specialty. Such programmes are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and an additional section of Diploma in Civil Engineering.
