Shri Sanganabasav Mahaswamiji Polytechnic, Vijayapura, affiliated to BLDE Association is one of the oldest institutions run with Technical education in Vijayapura, Karnataka was established in 1986. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) programmes & offering diploma in various streams of engineering. The polytechnic occupies a sizeable piece of land of 6 acres and I has a total enrolment of 576 students and the faculty has 33 members. Six diploma courses are offered by the institute to address the differential choice of aspiring technicians and engineers in the field of engineering.

The Shri Sanganabasav Mahaswamiji Polytechnic boasts of having made a variety of facilities that complement the learning process of the students available. The campus facilities consist of well-furnished hostels for boys and girls, which has a capacity of accommodating one hundred and fifty and hundred students respectively. The library which occupies 670SQM has capacity to contain 23950 books and 21 journals in addition to the computerized library mode built with ten computer systems. The playground and physical development, the institute consists of a large playground with a football ground to share with other institutions like the BLDEA’s VPs Dr. PG Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology. Inter and intra collegiate outdoor games where students practice and participate in sports like cricket, volleyball, and Kabbadi are allowed; students also practice and participate in indoor games such as chess and carom. The college has 36 laboratories as per AICTE to add necessary fixtures and latest apparatus enriched with advanced computers that equip the students in mastering the latest technologies.

These programmes are offered across the various disciplines for instance Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
