The Basaveshwar Arts College for women came into existence in the year 1944 under the auspices of the BVV Sangha, Bagalkot of Karnataka state, India. This prestigious establishment with an amazingly large land area of about 48.38 acres, trains students for nearly eight decades. This college is an affiliated college and is proud to be accredited by NAAC that is it gives importance to quality education. The Basaveshwar Arts College has offered 29 different courses with two degree level and enrolled 554 students with 34 members of faculty. Children attend the college with diverse and modern structures fitted to improve learning environment. In the middle of it the community boasts of a well-endowed library which is regarded as the life of the shades of learning. 

Basaveshwar Arts College is not behind in the present era of digitalisation. The television is accompanied by other modern facilities such as a computer laboratory containing twenty computer systems all of which are highly advanced, other accessories such as printer and scanner included. These include provision of Wi-Fi internet connection all over the compound so that students can be connected in the’l connective world’. The versatility of technological equipment has been greatly over enhanced through the provision of a 50 MBPS internet connection via fibre optic cables which enhance streaming during online learning classes. The college does not only ensure provision of Infrastructures but also hosts ICT based quizzes, hardware workshops and special lectures for the students, in order to update the knowledge of the students with the current technological development.

These include visual communications, computer applications, linguistics, and several others, mostly from the arts stream. It offers 29, full time courses all under Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) streams. BA degree is quite unique for its potential directions which let students achieve flexible and efficient combinations of courses.
