Sanghas Basaveshawara college of Physical education, Bagalkot-Karnataka is a premier Physical Education college. This is a co-educational college that since its inception in 1982 has been creating sports education for more than 40-years. The college is situated on a large area of 11.736 acres and provides a suitable atmosphere for learners who wish to become physical education specialists. Total seat intake for students is 191 whereas faculty members count is 15 of the institute facilitates individual attention and quality education. The college has and is affiliated to NAAC which is a testimony of the college commitment in ensuring it provide quality education. Also, it has been approved by the National council for Teacher Education [NCTE], which gives an endorsement to the course offered by the college on the academic front expressly in physical education.

The under-mentioned two full time programmes are available at BVV Sanghas Basaveshwar College of Physical Education: The B.P.Ed. programme has an intake capacity of one hundred students whereas M.P.Ed programme admits 30 students only. These programmes are conceived to provide students with detailed understanding and expertise in physical education in order that they may practice teaching, coaching and sports management after graduation. 

Admission at BVV Sanghas Basaveshwar College of Physical Education is done on merit and very comprehensive to ensure the college selects the most qualified individuals. For the B.P.Ed programme, admission are done based on an entrance examination comprising of written test /Physical and sports ability Test & Physical fitness test. Another factor considered before admission is the marks obtained by the candidate in his or her qualifying examination. The pattern is similar to the above-stated degree courses and the special feature of the M.P.Ed programme is the interview sessions. M.P.Ed entrance examination for the selected course comprises written examination, fitness examination, and interview along with percentage in the qualifying examination.
