    Calcutta Institute of Education, established in 2015 at Uluberia, Howrah, West Bengal, is a reputed teacher training college. It is affiliated with the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, Kolkata, and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), offering programmes in teacher education with an intake of 195 students. Calcutta Institute of Education is very proud to provide high-tech facilities in order to support and develop the students’ learning process. This institution occupies a special place among educational libraries and contains 4200 books on 2600 unique titles. It also carries one of the largest selections of educational CDs known to man, and famous names like the encyclopedia and National Geographic Journals. The students get to read 20 international journals and close to 300 periodicals that are current to the latest trends afloat in the education sector. To complement its technological policies, the college recently overhauled its computer laboratory with PCs that include 16 modern computers connected to the internet. This section of this lab is also supervised by a qualified teaching assistant and includes scanning and printing services. Because the methods of teaching vary, the institute has access to optical appliances like overhead projectors, audio systems, and television sets.

    Calcutta Institute of Education currently offers one full-time course: The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This two-year degree programme has an approved intake of 100 students to ensure the Institute maintains its quality in teacher training. The purpose of the B.Ed course is very clear as it is formulated to equip future teachers with adequate knowledge for a professional teaching career.
