The College of Physical Education, Udgir; established in 1985 approved by the Current Government and permanently affiliated to the University of Marathwada, Aurangabad established in Maharashtra. This co-educational institution approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is imparting education in physical education. Located on a 7-acre land, the college offers the present 18 students and has 7 faculties. The institute offers only one degree course, the Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.). The total sanctioned intake capacity of the institute is 50 students per year. Although being a college with a peculiar field of study, the educational process is rich in diverse subject offerings of physical education. 

For the growth and development of the student’s College of Physical Education, Udgir is equipped with several facilities. The entire campus has good sports amenities to allow students to exercise their skills in various sporting activities. There is a library resource which is used in search of materials and for study purposes. The college also has functional departmental laboratories that facilitate more practical lessons. Preventions are employed with the presence of an on-campus first aid facility and recreational facilities being offered through an on-campus gym. As a means of meeting modern education requirements, the college has equipped itself with excellent IT amenities. There is a guest house for the visiting faculty and a waiting area for students’ families when they decide to visit. 

The major interest of this College of Physical Education is in its B.P.Ed programme which is a two-year full-time course. This programme is a flagship of the institute’s academic portfolio with an approved uptake of 50 students. The course B.P.Ed aims at offering total personality development in physical education professionals in teaching, coaching and sports administration. The syllabi are most likely received with theoretical concepts that are complemented with practical learning activities within the college’s sports complex and laboratories. 

Admission requirements include performance outcomes of either the qualifying examination and/oran entrance examination. The college may also use other methods of recruitment as may be advanced by the Maharashtra State Government and the affiliated university.
