College of Teacher Education, Srinagar founded in the year 2005 is a constituent college explicitly committed to the profession preparation of teachers. Kupwara is an educational institution situated at Umhama, Ompora Road, near KSERT College in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir that is working as an essential factor for the educational structure of the area. Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college has two focused programmes in education. San Lorenzo College has a total student population of one hundred and sixty-seven students and the faculty consists of seven members so that it offers the much-needed concentrated students for teacher education. This institution is dedicated to education as it provided the programmes on the subject at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

It also provides different hostels for male and female students although most of the students are day scholars, the college provides hostel facilities for outstation students. A Points cafeteria at the campus provides students with the central area to break between classes to interact and rest. The fact that there are banks and ATM was established on or around the campus makes it convenient especially for students and staff. For visitors, the college offers some lodging facilities, or some place for waiting, as a sign of its hospitality. Alumni Association also plays a crucial role to bind up the students in passing out with the students who are pursuing their studies in colleges and Universities. In as far as courses are concerned, the College of Teacher Education, Srinagar specialises in two main areas of education. The college teaches two full-time courses total, with both situated at different levels of study. These programmes are intended for students who want to advance as educators and who hope to find employment in the education field. 

The College of Teacher Education, Srinagar, has developed specific procedures for admitting deserving candidates to its education programmes. In cases of admission to the B.Ed programme, the following criteria is used to determine which candidates should be admitted: The marks the candidate obtained in the qualifying examination and the entrance examination. The college also considers any other method of selection as may be provided under policies of the state government, UT administration and this university. Similarly for admission to the M. Ed programme, the merit includes the marks of the qualifying examination and the entrance examination. The college follows certain admission polices defined by State Government, Central Government, University or UT Administration.
