CTE Society’s College of Education, Chikodi, A Teacher Education Institution, Chikodi, Karnataka: 2004. This affiliated college, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), provides excellent education on a vast 20 acre land. This college takes a total of 100 students, and the faculty of this college comprises 10 teachers, hence creating a sound teaching environment for teachers to be in. The institute also has the privilege of offering a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), where the institute pays keen emphasis to producing skilled and competent teachers of the future.

The college has some state-of-the-art readily available facilities that will enhance the activities of the college. There is a central library in these, especially containing reference books, educational CDs, encyclopaedias,charts, etc., for the B.Ed course. It is also a treasure trove of educational journals, magazines and daily newspapers to facilitate the ethos of learning and being informed at all times. For those who have an interest in technology in their learning, then the college boasts a functional computer resource centre. Here, students undertake training in Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint and other IT applications relevant to modern teaching methods.

At present, CTE Society’s College of Education, Chikodi, offers one full-time course of study – The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This two-year programme has an approved annual student intake of 50 students during the first instance for ratio control purposes, with an emphasis on maintaining optimum student-teacher ratios. The B.Ed course is one that aims to provide the students with relevant knowledge and training for them to enable them to face the challenges of current teaching practice.

Admission process at CTE Society’s College of Education is merit-based on marks in the qualifying examination &/or in the entrance test. The college operates under the admission policy formulated by the state government and the affiliated university.
