The Department of Computer Applications at Cochin University of Science and Technology CUSAT in Ernakulam Kerala is a recognised premier institution imparting higher learning in computer science and research. However, there is comfortable MSc Computer Lab consisting of thirty PCs, an Artificial Intelligence Research laboratory facility has sixteen PCs with both Windows and Ubuntu, and there is Multimedia laboratory facility with eleven high quality Lenovo brand all-in-one PCs. These resources make it possible for students to feel the technological pulse of the sector. We can also add library with lessons and average of 7000 book which contain information related to the computer sciences and their sub branch like multimedia, cryptography, artificial intelligence and software engineering and others.
The Department of Computer Applications presently offers four courses in total: three postgraduate courses based on full-time study, and a doctorate programme In addition for those with more leaning to research the department offers a PhD course in Computer Applications. All these programmes aim at satisfying the different subfields in the computer science discipline and potential to enable the students to deepen themselves on modern frontiers of technology.
