Desh Bhagat College of Education was established in the year 2005 and is located in Bardwal Dhuri, Sangrur, Punjab. This is a co-educational college located on a 10-acre plot of land, which focuses on preparing future educators. It is an NAAC-accredited institution which runs under the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is affiliated with Mysore University, Karnataka. Being an affiliated college, the institution provides three full-time courses in education, and the total admission capacity is 211. The institute has 58 highly qualified faculty members so that the ratio between the number of students and teachers is moderate and students can avail themselves of the proper attention and proper education.

Desh Bhagat College of Education has got two broad areas of a course in education. They are Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed). All programmes are full time The B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses take two academic years to complete. It enrols the largest number of students, with 100 students under the B.Ed. programme and 50 students for the M.Ed. These diverse range of programme meets the needs of prospective educators at different stages, from the novice teacher setting out for the classroom to the experienced teacher who wants to go further in his/her education and become an instructional leader and/or researcher.
