Devta College of Education and Research which is located in Thane, Maharashtra, and is an educational center that focuses on producing trained teachers. This affiliated college was set up in 2009 and has been preparing the future educators for more than ten years. Run by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college provide a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course to the future teachers. Based on a 1.90 Hectare land, Devta College is a small college which is providing education to 184 learning students to keep it focused. With only 6 members as the faculty strength, the college promises to provide guiding hand to all its student. 

Devta College of Education and Research has various facilities provided with the intention of facilitating interaction between the students and improved performance. The campus has well designed classrooms with learning essentials to support classroom discussions and lectures. Instructionally, the college provides departmental laboratories in which the students can practice their research and practical training. The library plays a role of an information centre given it contains learning materials and various resources. In order to improve students’ physical activity and health, the college offers the possibility to use sports facilities and a gym. A campus facility used for group meetings, seminars and other related activities is available in enhancing the academic life of the students. It also embraces student healthcare through putting into place a medical center with the necessary amenities for first aid. Also, it also complies with current and educational requirements for today through the outstanding IT provision, so the students are still confident in using technology in daily learning. 

Devta College of Education and Research offers only one programme in B.Ed course through full time mode of two years. Thus, as a speciality college, it can direct its focus and skills to creating competent teachers and educators. B.Ed programme offered at Devta College is intended to offer students the knowledge and practical experience required for effective teaching. 

Admission to the B.Ed programme, at Devta College of Education and Research, is subjected to merit, following the performance of the candidate at the degree level. In addition to extra credits awarded by respective university, college takes into account absolute percentage of marks obtained by a candidate in undergraduate programme. This way, the selection process is made competitive enhances fairness and also takes into consideration, the diverse grading system used in different universities. In case of the candidates from open universities, the marks are awarded according to the general sequence practiced in the respective open University.
