DNR College of Education, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, was set up in the year 1945 to produce quality teachers for the state. Situated in Balusumudi, Bhimavaram, this college is co-educational and is affiliated to the University and credited by the National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE). The facility occupies 1.75 acres of land and is designed to provide a suitable atmosphere for learning. The college is affiliated with Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry. At present, the college is recognised to have 128 students enrolled and 19 teachers, which establishes a good student-teacher ratio that promotes extra focus in teaching and learning. DNR College of Education offers two full-time courses, B.Ed and M.Ed, that provide education to students who want to become teachers at class ET I and II levels, respectively.
DNR College of Education has installed a number of facilities to facilitate the learning experience of its students. Internet connection is established, and the data line provided has a capacity of 100 Mbps. The college has multiple specific laboratories, such as Biological Science and Physical Sciences Laboratories, Telugu Science, Mathematics, Social Science, English, and Psychological Laboratories, available to provide practical knowledge to the students. The college also focuses on the student affairs with health centre medical facilities and a canteen, and there are also separate hostels for boys and girls.
In all, DNR College of Education has two courses, both of which are full-time courses. The B.Ed programme has a recognised capacity of a hundred students, and the M.Ed programme has fifty seats. These programmes are intended to provide students with the knowledge base needed to become productive members of the teaching profession. It is in meeting the needs of the college that the programme focuses on teacher education, and this is evident through the courses offered.
