Government Degree College, Chandrabadni is located on a beautiful Himalayan foothill with great views and is surrounded by dense silver oak, rhododendron and cedar forests 28 km from Devprayag, at an average height of 1,831 meters above sea level. 

Government Degree College, Chandrabadni is affiliated with the college Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Tehri. The institution was set up in 2001 on a piece of land given by the Forest Department and the campus has both academic, administrative, and residential buildings, along with housing for the professors of Type-2 category. For science aspirants, B.Sc. degree programmes are available at the Government Degree College, Chandrabadni. B.A. programmes in arts and humanities are offered by the college. Government Degree College admission process is primarily based on 10+2 results, with a focus on the overall percentage and subject-specific performance at the higher secondary level.

Admission to the M.A. Hindi programme requires a bachelor's degree with Hindi as one of the subjects. Government Degree College offers an M.A. in Political Science programme. Government Degree College offers an M.A. Geography programme. Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s programme with Geography as an optional or core subject. 

IT was running only Arts with seven subjects, which has now grown up to offering undergraduate courses in both Arts and Science. The college teaches B.A. subjects such as Political Science, History, Sanskrit, Geography, Hindi, Sociology, Economics, English, etc., in addition to B.Sc. Physics, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Botany are offered. M.A. in Political Science, Geography, and Hindi are also available at the postgraduate level.

The campus is a great place to study if one prefers a calm and clean atmosphere which is good for the student's health and studies at the same time. There are also several facilities provided that are necessary for learning, such as departmental laboratories, library, sports, guest/waiting rooms, and staff quarters. Now, there is also a Training and Placement Cell to cater to our students’ career needs. 

The student’s life in school becomes more vibrant through the participation in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as sports, cleanliness, and NSS camps besides cultural events, these activities enable the students to engage in community activities and develop leadership and personality. The officials work according to the rules and regulations mentioned in the University and state education body and the policy of the contemporary era like “Samarth” entrance portal is being used for conducting the admissions.
