Government First Grade College, Ankola (GFGCA), is one of the premier colleges of Karnataka state which started functioning in the year 2007. This affiliated college is located in Poojageri, Uttara Kannada, Karnataka and since inception this institution has been providing quality education. Located on a vast area of 5 acres of land, GFGCA has focused on quality education and has been accredited by NAAC. The college consists of 781 students and 15 academic staff members that provide 8 programs for 5 degrees for students with various interests and goals.

The college has some of the best invaluable amenities and apparatuses with aimed at enhancing learning experience and all round development of students. The heart of academic resource is the up-to-date library that is stocked with books, periodicals, maps and subject encyclopaedas. BA is one of the undergraduate courses with features like Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics; History Economics, Political Science; new age BA plans for Psychology, Sociology, and Optional English. Science stream encompasses B.Sc programmes in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science; Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. For the students who want to pursue their studies in commerce and management the college provides B.Com and BBA courses. At post graduate level the GFGCA offers an MA in Economics.
