Government Polytechnic Barechhena, Almora, was established in 2014 as a technical institution in the heart of the scenic state of Uttarakhand, India. It is affiliated by the All India Council for Technical Education. The college currently has an enrolment of 111 students with specialised teaching from 4 faculty members. The Polytechnic runs two full-time diploma courses of three years duration each, in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

Government Polytechnic Barechhena campus has several modern facilities for the overall development of students, such as a Library with modern provisions acting as a knowledge hub wherein all technically enriched literature is available. The total intake capacity of students is 120 with 60 each for both the programmes, thus enabling focused attention and quality education in these two core engineering disciplines.
