Government Polytechnic, Bighapur which was established in 2016 is situated in the Manpur of Bighapur, Uttar Pradesh and it is one of its kinds in the region. This is a government owned institution affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which sanctions technical education. Based on a 30-Hectare land the polytechnic provides three diploma programmes for a total enrolment of three hundred forty-seven. The institute has a small list of six members in the faculty list and therefore has a well controlled class size. 

Government Polytechnic is keen on ensuring that student is provide with every facility that is expected to enhance the learning process of the students. The college library is another hub for learning being an accredited centre for all academic needs; the college has over three thousand books in its collection, that enhances the technical knowledge of the students across different fields. The learning environment is beginning with comfortable, spacious and well-furnish as well as well–ventilated age appropriate classroom. 

The institute also posses Computer Lab with all latest furniture and air conditioner and broadband internet and video projection facilities for the students to update them with the latest technology. As for the practical training, the polytechnic offers department based laboratory facilities where students can practice their stuff after being taught according to the department they belong.

Government Polytechnic, Bighapur has in total three diploma programmes which are of the full time type of study and as such it takes the students three years for their training. These courses include Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma in Leather Technology and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Each programme has an approved enrolment capacity of 60 students; hence, a total seating capacity of 180 students.
