• Government Polytechnic, Jammu has released the Admission Notice for Job-Oriented Courses.

Government Polytechnic, Jammu was established in the year 1960 for imparting Technical Education to the youth of the state, especially the Jammu Division. The Govt Polytechnic institution was started to meet the technical education requirements of young females and males. The institute was initially started with three-year diploma courses. At present eight diploma courses are offered by the Government Polytechnic Jammu.

All the diploma courses are recognised by the J&K Government and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. AICTE is an apex body constituted by the Government of India (GOI) for granting approval to the Technical Institutions of all levels i.e. Diploma, Degree, and PG and Monitoring the working of all such Technical Institutions within the Country.

Government Polytechnic Jammu offers a full-time diploma course. Govt Polytechnic Jammu course includes a Diploma in Architecture Assistantship, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engineering, and Travel & Tourism. The total sanctioned seat intake for the Government Polytechnic Jammu is 370.

Govt Polytechnic Jammu provides scholarships to students to help with their education. India and state governments have different scholarship schemes which again are meant to support students from different sections of the society.

Government Polytechnic Jammu has a Training & Placement cell separately. Govt Polytechnic Jammu Placement Cell arranges various campus interviews for the students of several streams of Diploma Engineering. Govt Polytechnic Jammu facilities include a Library, Auditorium, Dispensary, Canteen, Parking, Guest House, and Hostel.

Government Polytechnic is located at Bikram Chowk, the busiest Chowk in the Capital city, Jammu. It is 2 km from the public bus stand and 3 km each from the airport and railway station. It consists of about 112 Kanals of land comprising of administrative block, staff quarters, auditorium canteen and guest house.
