Government Polytechnic Jamui was established in 2016. GP Jamui is a fully government polytechnic college managed by the Government of Bihar under administrative control of the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, Government of Bihar. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Government Polytechnic Jamui is affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education Patna. Government Polytechnic Jamui offers Diploma courses in the Engineering and Architecture streams. GP Jamui courses in diploma offered in various specialisations, and all courses are offered in full-time mode only. Government Polytechnic Jamui Diploma courses are offered in the specialisations of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering.
