    Government Polytechnic, Joida fondly known as GP Joida is a polytechnic technical college, established in 2008 in Joida taluk, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state, India. This affiliated college is being operated under the AICT E accredited approval to impart quality education in a number of engineering fields. GP Joida is located over a large area of 8-acres and now is the center of attraction for all the young technicians and engineers. The intake of students are total 386 and the faculties available and working in the institute is 17 and thus maintain good student teacher ratio which Indicates proper faculty involvement and good quality education system.

    GP Joida has pride that we are having the best and various facilities in improving our students’ learning experiences. Technical education requires practice by use of practical facilities and the institute has adequately equipped laboratories responded to this policy for each of its departments. A comprehensive library acts as an appendix by providing information resources to assist the students in their academics. The college is well equipped; state-of-the-art technology enhances learning making student technologically adept for the future markets. For the students who come from different region, GP Joida has provided the performances of both the boys’ hostel and girls’ hostel; the students can have comfortable and secure accommodations successfully. There is also students’ cafeteria on the territory of the campus where students can spend time relaxed and speak to each other. Most institutions have an alumni association that keeps the network of students flowing from the institution to the employment markets.

    Four full time diploma programs are provided the by the institute and each programs takes a span of three years. These programs are -Dip loma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Civil Engineering designed for several branches of engineering whereby students are taught essentials of their specializations. The total approved intake of students in all the offered courses is 240 students per year which validates the institutes capability to develop a staggering number of aspiring engineers. Each of the courses has been structured such that Academy Part theoretical knowledge would be expected to be matched by practical skills when the students join the industry.
