    About Government Polytechnic, Kataram

    Government polytechnic, Kataram was set up in the year 2008 to provide admissions to the students in an affiliated college in Karimnagar, Telangana. This technical institution approved by All India Council for Technical Education AICTE offers diploma programs in engineering fields. Located in the South East London on a relatively small piece of land of 5.42 acres the polytechnic has an overall year student intake of 257 and staff strength of 10. Government polytechnic, Kataram offers two 4 year full time diploma programmes Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering for student who wants to study in technical field with industry oriented curriculum.

    It mainly aims at developing a good learning environment for its students who attend the institute. It has provision of various amenities to help in academics and other personality developments. College library acts as a source of information and resource centre to assist student in improving standards of their results. Departmental laboratories are equipped fully, where practical sessions are important for the technical courses. It also prizes a good IT facility in order to keep students up to date with existing technologies.  To ensure all round development, the college provides for a table tennis court and a canteen to offer meals. A basic health center including first aid services is provided to meet any urgent health requirement of the students. The classrooms are well laid to enhance leanring and interaction between the faculty and the students.

    As of now, the Government Polytechnic at Kataram runs only two diploma courses and these courses are three-year full time courses. The total sanctioned intake of the institute for these courses is 120 and for each of the program it is 60. The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and the Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering are practical and theoretical courses in the respective fields. The technical education to both course charges 11400 rupees per annum; thus making technical education affordable.
