About Government Polytechnic, Malkangiri
Government Polytechnic, Malkangiri is a premier institute established in the year 2015. This public institute is an affiliated college of the Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Cuttack. It offers 1 degree option, that is, a diploma. However, it does offer 3 specialisations for students to choose from as their field of study. These courses are- diploma in civil engineering, diploma in mechanical engineering, and diploma in electrical engineering. All these courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Students can choose their desired course and apply for the same provided they fulfil the basic eligibility criteria. It is a 3-year programme that can be pursued in full-time, regular mode only. The admission to the institute is done through selection based on marks secured in class 10th examination by central counselling conducted by DTET Odisha. Students after completing their diploma may decide to work in the industry or they can opt for higher studies in their field of specialisation. The college has its own placement cell to facilitate students in finding jobs after completion of the course. The 16-acre campus houses a lot of facilities for the students. Some of these are- separate boys and girls hostel accommodation with a mess facility, tutorial rooms, multiple laboratories, drawing halls, a computer lab, a library, games and sports facilities and soft skill development facilities.
