Government Polytechnic Malkangiri is a premier institute established in the year 2015. Government Polytechnic Malkangiri is affiliated with the State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, Bhubaneswar. All these courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Government Polytechnic Malkangiri by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
Government Polytechnic Malkangiri offers a diploma programme. Government Polytechnic Malkangiri diploma programme offers specialisation in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Students can choose their desired course and apply for the same, provided they fulfil the basic eligibility criteria. The admission to the institute is done through selection based on marks secured in class 10th examination by central counselling conducted by the DTET Odisha.
Government Polytechnic Malkangiri has its own placement cell to facilitate students in finding jobs after completion of the course. During Government Polytechnic Malkangiri placement drive 2025, 11 students were placed. The 16-acre campus houses a lot of facilities for the students. Some of the facilities are separate boys and girls hostel accommodation with a mess facility, tutorial rooms, multiple laboratories, drawing halls, a computer lab, a library, games and sports facilities and soft skill development facilities.
