Government Polytechnic, Shaktifarm, was established in the year 1985 as a technical institute located in Sidcul Sitarganj, Uttarakhand. This affiliated college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offers diploma programmes in various disciplines of engineering with an enrolment of 82 students and a faculty strength of 5. The polytechnic offers four diploma courses, all of which are full-time programmes in the fields of chemical, electrical, and electronics engineering.

The institute has various facilities that make learning more enriching for its students. It has a well-stocked library with a wide variety of technical literature and serves as a very good resource center for its students. These theoretical inputs are further supplemented by departmental, well-equipped laboratories where students get hands-on experience and practical skills in the chosen field. The institution also strikes a balance in its approach toward education by providing sports facilities to students who are more bent toward physical activities. Besides this, the institute has provided an excellent IT infrastructure to ensure that students at the institute are abreast with the latest developments related to their fields.

Government Polytechnic, Shaktifarm is presently running four full-time diploma courses, each of three-year duration: Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and Diploma in Chemical Technology. The total approved intake for all courses together is 140 students per year. This wide spectrum of programmes enables the students to attain specialisation in fields of their interest and career objectives related to the dynamic arena of engineering.
