    About Government Polytechnic, Sikandra

    Affiliated college established in the year 2013 ,Government Polytechnic, Sikandra is located in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. This institution which is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has three engineering diploma programmes. Having an aggregate enrolment capacity of 300 and faculty ratio of 1: 8, the polytechnic offers optimal learning facilities to the students who wish to build a career in engineering field. As a still young institute, it has been gradually building its physical facilities and programmes to cater for the increasing need for technical training in the region. The polytechnic has acquired different facilities for the improvement of the student learning experiences. 

    Government Polytechnic provides latest facilities in Information Technology for the students with fully furnished air conditioned computer labs with broadband Internet and video projection facilities. Part of learning resources in the institution, the library boasts the capacity of over 3000 books with appropriately equipped reading spaces. For the results oriented students, the college has focused on the participation of various games outdoors and indoors through the sporting amenities. There are different laboratories in each department to ensure that students have a touch of the real world scenarios in their respective fields. Finally, the institute provides facilities for hostels and accommodation for male and female students who are in residentials, in order to provide convenient accommodation to the students. 

    Government Polytechnic, Sikandra at present provides three diploma courses, each of the duration of three years. Some of these programmes are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Production Engineering and Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering. Of all the programmes offered in each course, the intake is approved at 60 students while the total seats for all the programmes are 180. Such a diverse set of classes enables students to select a concentration that will best suit the field of engineering as well as student’s goals and personal preferences.
