Cooperative cum grant in aids managed by Teachers Association called GVM’s Dr Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda – Goa was established in 1993 to offer teacher education in the region of Goa – India. Situated in Farmagudi Ponda this co educational college encompasses 1 acre of land. The college is also accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and authorised to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which makes it impart standard education. As an affiliated college, it gives three professional degree courses in education and having an admitted student strength of 228. The faculty of this cozy institute is composed of sixteen highly trained, experienced tutors who prevent traffic in learning by offering appropriate student/teacher ration and attentiveness.

The college prides in a variety of learning amenities fitted to improve the learning environment of its students. A standard library is an important resource center enhanced with necessary learning materials to prepare a tentative teacher. The computer laboratory for 20 students enables the students who are to become Future teachers to be conversant with modern technological features in Education. There is adequate provision for To and fro with additional recreational facilities, accessible only by a 45-minute climb, the college provides a hockey field sized common playground. The community auditorium has a seating capacity of 350 people and it is used for instance for hosting of academics and learners’ cultural activities. Small three classes each teaching accommodating 40 students with learning aids including LCD projectors enhance interactivity. Other facilities include a cafeteria, adequate parking space and an over the counter shop which also sells photocopying services thus enhancing a favourable leaning environment.

To these, the GVMs Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education has come up with a narrow specialization of full time courses in the field of education. The institute provides three distinct programs: Bachelors in Education (B. Ed), Master of Education (M. Ed) and Doctor of Philosophy in Education PhD in Education. The most popular course is the B.Ed program which has an approved intake capacity of 100 students.
