Holycross Engineering College was started in the year 2009 which is an affiliated college in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The multi campus of the institution is located over an area of 14.93 acres and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]. It has total student intake of 564 and faculty strength of 75 and has good number of Engineering programs. Holycross Engineering College offers 10 courses across three degrees, and at the undergraduate level, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, computers science and Biomedical Engineering and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering.

A college provides for several amenities through which it supports its students in their learning process. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls in order to maintain the living condition of the students’ hostels as comforts as possible for those students who reside in the campus. An integrated library has a vast area with books, journals, and magazines on various disciplines of engineering which makes and ideal environment for research. For practical lesson delivery across the various departments, the college also possesses up-to-date laboratories. 

For the bodily health of student, there exists sports facilities and a gymnasium on the campus. The IT infrastructure is coupled with the computing applications with broadband facilities to connect in high speed. Mess which serves quality food at lower cost Accommodation Amenities include a large cafeteria containing different food stalls and a theatre that supervises diverse events and academic seminars. Transport also forms a facility of this college which has a bus and van service to pick up students from neighboring cities and towns.

Holycross Engineering College teaches a total of 8 courses ranging from the full time BE programmes and ME programme. The BE programmes take four years and the ME on the other hand is a two year programme. The college offers five BE programmes: Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science and Bio-Medical. All these undergraduate programmes have an approved admission capacity of 60 students. Also, the college offer an ME in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake capacity of 18.

Student admission to undergraduate engineering courses in Holycross Engineering College usually goes through the TNEA process. This process is administered by Anna University and is conducted through the process called Single Window Counselling in turn based on cutoff – marks. As per their cutoff marks the candidates are called for counseling and all the branches and colleges are filled according to the merit and the communal reservation provided. The college also handles Lateral Entry admissions for the diploma holders who wish to join BE programmes in the second semester.
