Indira Gandhi Teachers Training College Hooghly was established in the year 2013, which is a self-financing college for providing teacher training. Talandu Girls’ High School is a co-educational school at Talandu in West Bengal with an area of 2 acres of land. The college is also accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which emphasises the standards of the college for providing training to teachers. The college is affiliated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, Kolkata. With a focus on preparing future educators, the institute offers two full-time courses: 50 students admission capacity each in the B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses. The college enrols a total number of 130 students divided among 18 highly qualified teachers, ensuring the student-faculty ratio.

The B.Ed programme trains learners to teach at secondary and higher secondary levels, and the D.El.Ed trains learners for primary teaching.
