The Institute of Education for Women Hastings House Kolkata was established in 1954 as a premier Government teacher’s college for women. The Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House, Kolkata is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House, Kolkata is affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University.  

Institute of Education Hastings House, Kolkata offers two courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.). The B.Ed programme is offered at the undergraduate level and M.Ed programme is offered at the postgraduate level. Institute of Education for Women Hastings College BEd course is offered for 2 years.
