The Government Institute of Printing Technology and Government Polytechnic College Shoranur was established at Palakkad in the year 1967, is a premier technical educational in institution in the state of Kerala. The engineering and technological institution is affiliated to a university and located in a 33 acres of land; it was approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India – the technical educator of credibility. At the diploma level the institute provides three programmes namely computer engineering, electronics engineering, and printing technology. FACULTY Currently the college has 27 dedicated and qualified faculty members to train the young generations and build up their technical skills to make them good aspiring engineers.

The procedure of admission to the Institute of Printing Technology and Government Polytechnic College is kept as simple as possible and fully relying on the ability of the candidate. It has a total of 2400 intake capacity for the three diploma courses offered in the institute, out of which Printing Technology diploma course has maximum intake of 120 students and Computer Engineering as well as Electronics Engineering diploma courses has intake of 60 students each. These full-time diploma courses take a total of three years to complete, offering students a sound technical learning in their areas of specialisation.
