Janata Government First Grade College,Basavapatna,established in the year 2007, recognised Affiliated College, situated in Channagiri TQ, Davangere Karnataka. This is a government affiliated college located in 3 acre area, which has a total enrolment of 252 for 3 under graduate programs. Currently, the college has a workforce of 30 members of faculty in order to maximise the students-teacher ratio. The college is NAAC accredited, and its ensures that quality education is being delivered in the college.

There some of the facilities offer to the students of college as to facilitate the education procedure. Serving as the core of the institution is a rich university library; considered an imperative to the growth of academics. It contains numerous textbooks and reference books for students and books for the academic staff as well. The flexibility of the lending policy is due to interpersonal differences among the user groups; the SC and ST students have a book bank. Besides academics, the college provides for sports facilities in order to enhance on physical fitness and team work among student.

Janata Government First Grade College offers three full-time undergraduate programs. The common under graduate degree programs include the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and BBA. The BA has the largest capacity for the year with 360 students, B.Com has 100 seats while BBA has 60 seats. All these programs are of three years duration in order to enable the students to attain a good grounding in respective fields.
