Jyothishmathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Thimmapur is affiliated college located at Karimnagar, Telangana was established in 2007. It is a PCI approved institute spread over a 2.875 acres land of Hiranmagri district, Udaipur. The institute has a total of 237 students and 27 faculty members, and a and two major pharmaceutical programmes. The college takes TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) for admissions into the college. Jyothishmathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences vision is to impart quality educational need for pharmacy profession to face the competitive world for better employment opportunities in the pharma industry.

A variety of facilities are available in the institute to contribute towards the development of the students at both, academic as well as personal levels. The college library as the information center offers an extensive number of pharmaceutical documents and materials. Accommodated technical facilities are more effective since vocational education to some aspect of pharmaceutical sciences is important. There is a cafeteria at the campus to ensure that students are taken through delicious foods, and necessary social interactions.  IT support provided at the institute helps student remain connected besides enabling them access to form digital resources such as Blackboard. From the viewpoint of students’ physical health, there are sports facilities and a gym on the territory of the university. The college also has its residents’ hostels for both male and female students who live outside the locality where the college is located. An auditorium is an academic and cultural facility; a health center with first-aid facilities is a students’ health facility.

Jyothishmathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences currently provides the students two full time programmes in the stream of pharmacy. There is undergraduate course B.Pharma for which admission is open at two levels per year and annually 60 students can take admission. Specifically the university offers six year Pharma.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) programme with annual intake of 30 students. The two programmes aim at delivering advanced information and training with regards to pharmaceutical sciences in order to produce students who could fit into different positions within the health and pharmaceutical system. More restricted intake approved throughout all the courses in the institute is 90 students per year caused by its orientation on pharmaceutical preparation.

Jyothishmathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences offer admission primarily on the basis of the TS EAMCET test scores. This is another state level common entrance test conduct for admissions to the various professionals courses in pharmacy in the region of Telangana. All the aspiring students need to qualify in TS EAMCET and get admitted through the counseling process for the seat allotment. On this very standardised test, the institute lays importance to ensure a healthy competitive admission procedure.
