Karuna College of Pharmacy Palakkad has come into existence in the year 2010 is an affiliated college situated at Iringuttoor, Thirumittacode P.O., near Pattambi, Palakkad-Dist, Kerala. PCI approved this institution that is dedicated to pharmaceutical learning. Laying on a sprawling 5 acre land, the college now has the capacity of 228 students and has 15 faculty members.
The college has state of the art facilities that are useful in achieving its educational objectives. It is a key component of academic materials: 4,489 books, 20 national and international subscribed journal. The students can easily explore National Digital Library, SWAYAM, NPTEL courses as well as e-journals. The Information centre, with 20 multimedia computers for learning more languages and reprographic services. To support students’ hands-on experience, the college carries well equipped laboratory for practical experience. Some of the Instrumentation Room equipment includes high performance liquid chromatograph, UV spectrophotometer and other analysis instruments. The Machine Room at UI involves Pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment’s which include Rotary tablet punching machine, dissolution and disintegration apparatus equipment’s, in addition to imparting theoretical knowledge in manufacturing, call it the practical laboratory.
Karuna College of Pharmacy currently offers one full-time course, that were introduced by the Ministry of Health Co-Operation and Education which includes the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) programme. This is an undergraduate degree that takes four years to complete, and has an approved annual student capacity of sixty. The B.Pharma course structure aims in imparting sound academic and practical knowledge on pharmaceutical sciences among its graduates for employment in different field of pharmacy.
