KMG College of Education, Coimbatore is a self financing educational institution devoted particularly to teacher education established in the year 2006 in Tamil Nadu, India. Set on a rather large area of 5 acres, this co-educational college is a training ground to build the leaders of the future educational system. NCTE has approved KMG College of Education as affiliated college for the college that would mean the college conform to the set national regulatory education standards regarding tuition of teachers. The total number of students enrolled per course is 100 and 13 faculty members are available which ensure that at any time the students have direct contact with the teachers and vice versa and this keeps the student teacher ratio fairly desirable.
The KMG College of Education has many up to date structures that help make the college environment and course efficient to the students it hosts. A sound library resource centre is well endowed with reference books on multiple copies and national and international journals. The campus has university standard laboratories in Physical Science and Biological Science in addition to the Psychology Laboratory. This lab include the most up to date tests such as Intelligence Tests, Aptitude Tests, and Personality Scales and giving the students real life knowledge of educational psychology. On the same, the achievements of the college regarding the use of technology are exhibited through its computer facility that has 25 computers/ 5 printers; the internet facilities that are available in the college are used for research purposes or in the establishment of packages, which include computerised learning.
KMG College of Education currently offers one full-time course: the programme known as the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This two year degree programme has an approved intake of one hundred students, This is because the college strives to offer intake of quality in a given course.
The selection of students at KMG College of Education is solely based on marks scored in the qualifying and/or entrance examination.
