Kuttukaran Polytechnic College is an affiliated college of Cochin University situated at Karumallor P.O,N.Paravur, Ernakulam Dist, Kerala, started in the year 2003. The institute is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and presents various diploma courses in various branches of engineering. The college has a well qualified faculty of 49 members and offers technical education to the engineering students. Currently, Kuttukaran Polytechnic College offers five diploma courses in the field of engineering including civil engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering amongst others to help meet the social demand for good technical education.

Some of the amenities include; Classrooms, Lecturer’s offices Laboratory, Tutorial rooms, computer laboratories, hostels, cafeteria, and transportation among others. The library is situated in the first floor of the western block; it contains large numbers of books that are recommended by the university syllabus together with other novels from world writers. It also subscribes to different journals and magazines to help the students and other faculty members to read latest trends in science and technology all over the world. Each department has well equipped lab to enhance their practical knowledge on the campus. For games, the college provides sports amenities such as a playground for soccer and basketball; shuttle and badminton courts; and a jumping pad. The facility of modern fitness centre with necessary equipment is also there in order to carry on the different exercises for fitness and health of the students. The Kuttukaran Polytechnic College also gives accommodation to students of both sexes in the college hostels which can house a total of 140 students. These hostels provide adequate room size, neat dining places, television sets with cable network, telephone services 24-hours round security.

The Kuttukaran Polytechnic College provides five employment-oriented full time diploma courses in the field of engineering. These programmes are usually intended for certification purposes, with an aim of making students have a good understanding of what they are trained to do. Total approved intake at the college is 300 students for all programmes while the college capacity for each programme is 60 students. Every diploma course offered by the institute takes three years to complete thus offering adequate time in which student can be trained adequately within their areas of specialisation.
